Meet The Chief

TODD RADFORD
Todd is a graduate of Mountain State University earning both a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master's of Science degree in Strategic Leadership. Todd is currently working on a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Safety Administration (PhD.).

Todd started his law enforcement career with the Travis County Sheriff's Office in 1987. During his tenure at TCSO he was assigned to patrol, investigations, field training, as a SWAT team member, and training academy instructor. After serving 11 years at the Sheriff's Office, Todd went to work for the Texas A&M University System, Texas Engineering Extension Service - Law Enforcement Training Division as an instructor, specializing topics ranging from leadership, to close quarter combat and tactical operations. He was reassigned to the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center, at Texas A&M for an initiative under the Department of Justice as an instructor and coordinator for counter terrorism training. He and his team were tasked to research, coordinate and deliver courses focused on conducting risk/vulnerability assessments for cities throughout the United States as it related to aspects of domestic/international terrorism for four years. Todd was then recruited by the Texas Attorney General's Office-Criminal Investigation Division and assumed the duties of divisional Training Coordinator. In February of 2007, Todd joined the Lakeway Police Department as the Patrol Lieutenant. In October of 2009, Todd was selected as the Chief of Police for the City of Lakeway, Texas. Todd oversees the daily operations of the agency and its many divisions which include patrol services, investigations, the dispatch center, animal control, and the emergency
management office.

The State of Texas recognizes Todd as a master level peace officer, and as instructor
in numerous disciplines. Todd speaks and provides training in a variety of topics throughout the United States and aboard for law enforcement professionals at the local, county, state and federal levels. For the past nine years Todd has been an adjunct instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and in Washington DC – specifically training agents and managers of the Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency – Undercover Operations group.

Throughout his 22 years of law enforcement service Todd has received multiple awards, certificates and accolades for his achievements in his chosen profession.
In 2010, The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce recognized Chief Todd Radford as their "Citizen of the Year" for his many contributions to the Lake Travis community.
Chief Radford is very active in his community serving in the Leadership Lake Travis Program as an advisor, dancing in the local area dancing with the stars, and serving
as a mentor with the high school during their job shadowing project.

Todd and his wife Rita have been together for 23 years, married for 20 years and have two boys Taylor (18) and Kelby (17). The boys attend Lake Travis High School, Taylor is a senior and Kelby is a junior. The Radford's have been Lakeway residents for
eight years.
